WINERY OF TRENTINO WINEGROWERS
Cavit is a multi-consortia group consisting of 5,250 winemakers associated with 11 wineries located throughout the territory, who together cultivate most of the Trentino vineyard area using artisanal methods. From the vineyard to the bottle, Cavit follows every step of the production process with rigour and expertise, in a system that enhances the identities of individual territories through wines of affordable, high and consistent quality.

The small size of the vineyards cultivated by the winegrower members (on average 1.2 hectares) allows for artisanal care and manual harvest, with the daily support of Cavit.

1950
FOUNDATION OF THE CONSORTIUM OF COOPERATIVE WINERIESCavit’s history began in 1950, when several winemakers, aware of the uniqueness of their land and eager to promote their products, joined forces to create a Consortium of Social Wineries, the embryo of Cavit.
1957
CREATION OF THE WINERY TO MARKET THE WINES OF ITS MEMBERSIn 1957, the technical department was joined by a commercial one: the Consortium established a winery to meet the growing needs of its members.
1964
CAVIT’S SITE IN RAVINA DI TRENTOThe current site in Ravina di Trento was built in 1964 and expanded starting in 1977 to reach the current 80,000 m2.
1978
FIRST EXPORT TO THE UNITED STATESIn 1978, the first bottle of Cavit wine was exported to the United States, laying the foundations for what is now a solid and recognised presence.
1993
FOUNDATION OF THE ALTEMASI SPARKLING WINERYInaugurated in 1993, the Sparkling Winery is a highly technological and highly functional facility. Here the excellence of the Cavit Charmat method and Altemasi Trentodoc Classic Method sparkling wines is revealed.
2014
CAVIT BECOMES A GROUPWith the acquisition of Kessler Sekt, a prestigious German sparkling wine house, Cavit becomes a Group.
2019
THE CAVIT GROUP EXPANDSCavit continues its consolidation in the sector with the acquisition of GLV and the Cesarini Sforza sparkling winery.
