Cabernet Franc

A grape variety of French origin, historically prevalent in the Bordeaux area and in the Loire Valley, Cabernet Franc has long been present in Trentino, where it has found favourable conditions especially in the very suitable hilly areas. It is characterised by good adaptability and the ability to express itself best in well-exposed and ventilated settings. It produces medium-bodied, elegant and harmonious wines, characterised by a fine aromatic profile and a pleasant freshness. Traditionally vinified in a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it is just one of the versions of Rosso Trentino DOC, a territorial reinterpretation of the famous Bordeaux blend that has been popular in Trentino since the 1960s.
