Gewürztraminer
An aromatic grape variety of ancient origin, Gewürztraminer has its roots in the Alpine region of Trentino-Alto Adige, particularly in the area of Termeno (Tramin), from which its name comes. Having spread since the 16th century in Alsace and in certain selected wine-growing areas of central Europe with a cold-temperate climate, it finds in cool and well-ventilated settings the ideal conditions to express its aromatic richness.It is a very demanding vine that prefers soils rich in skeleton, not limestone. In Trentino it is grown in suitable hilly areas, where the soil and temperature variations contribute to enhancing its distinctive profile. The bunch is small, stocky, with a conical trunk, sometimes winged in shape and generally compact, pink in colour when ripe. It produces wines of superior intensity and personality, characterised by elegant and recognisable aromas, with a rich and distinctive olfactory profile. Structured and enveloping on the palate, Traminer stands out for its finesse and balance, confirming itself as one of the most representative aromatic white wines of the Alpine region.
