Müller Thurgau
Müller-Thurgau is a white grape variety of Germanic origin, created at the end of the 19th century in Geisenheim, Germany, by the Swiss biologist Hermann Müller of the Canton of Thurgau by crossing Riesling Rhein with Madeleine Royale. This grape variety thrives in cool-temperate climates, making Trentino a particularly favourable habitat: the ideal vineyards extend across the Alpine valleys, where the marked temperature variations promote the development of aromas and freshness, elegantly interpreting one of the most distinctive expressions of the local wine-making tradition.
The bunch is medium-sized, pyramidal in shape with yellow-greenish grapes. Cultivated with care and with limited yields, Müller-Thurgau produces immediately pleasant wines, with a pale straw colour with greenish reflections, characterised by a delicate and complex aromatic bouquet. Its lively acidity and balanced flavour make it suitable for both young consumption and in sparkling versions. In the Trentino tradition, Müller-Thurgau is appreciated as an aperitif wine, with appetisers and fish dishes, but it is also ideally suited to more complex gastronomic preparations.
