Teroldego Rotaliano
One of the oldest and most representative native vines of Trentino, Teroldego has been grown for centuries exclusively in the Campo Rotaliano area, where it finds unique conditions to best express its qualities. Its origins have been documented since at least the 14th century and the name, of uncertain etymology, is sometimes traced back to the expression “Tiroler Gold”, or “Tyrol gold”. Cesare Battisti defined it as the “prince wine of Trentino”, an acknowledgement that highlights its central role in the local wine-making tradition. Its producers were the first, in 1948, to form a Consortium for the Protection of Teroldego Rotaliano and were the first, in 1970, to obtain recognition of the Controlled Designation of Origin. Aged partly in barriques and partly in Slavonian oak barrels, this wine offers hints of wild berries, which then evolve into vanilla notes.

Organoleptic characteristics
Intense ruby red colour, with marked and lively purple edges when young. The aroma is clean, distinctly fruity, with hints of berries, such as blackberry and raspberry, initially; as it matures, the bouquet is enriched with new sensations, becoming ethereal and delicately vanilla-like. In the mouth it reveals a balanced tannicity, accompanied by a full and continuous texture. The taste is velvety and enveloping.
Pairings
Meat stews and mixed grilled meats.
